Drive

Cirrux Drive is file storage for your Cirrux workspace, available at drive.cirrux.info. It runs on the same European infrastructure as the rest of Cirrux, so your files stay in the EU next to your mail and calendar. You can share files and folders with people in your workspace, publish a public link for anyone else, and reach everything through the API and the command-line tool.

What Drive can do

Upload and download files#

Drop files or whole folders anywhere in the Drive web app, or use Upload files and Upload folder. A dropped folder keeps its structure. Uploads run in the background and show their progress in the bottom corner of the screen. Files can be up to 2 GB each.

If a file with the same name already exists in that folder, Drive offers to keep both, with a new name for the upload.

Organize with folders#

Create and nest folders, rename anything, and move files and folders with Move to... from the right-click menu. Select several items at once to move or trash them together. Most actions have keyboard shortcuts, and the command palette (Cmd+K) reaches all of them.

Share with your workspace#

Right-click a file or folder and choose Share... to give people in your workspace access. Each person gets a role: a Viewer can open and download, an Editor can also upload, rename, move and trash. You can also open an item to everyone in the workspace at once. Sharing a folder shares everything inside it, including files added later.

People you share with get an email, and the item shows up under Shared with me in their Drive. You can add a short message to the email when you share.

Sharing with a specific person outside your workspace is not available yet. Use a public link for that.

Activity#

The Activity view lists what happened in your Drive and in the folders shared with you: uploads, renames, moves, trashed items and new shares, with who did it. Click an entry to jump to the item.

Trash#

Trashing a file or folder moves it to Trash, where you can restore it or delete it permanently. Anything left in the trash is deleted for good after 30 days. Items in the trash still count toward your storage until then.

Storage#

Storage is pooled across your workspace and shared by email, backups and files. The Drive sidebar shows how much of the pool is used. Workspace admins can see the breakdown and change the storage tier under Billing in the admin app. See pricing for the tiers.

Encryption#

Every file is encrypted at rest with its own key, which is itself encrypted with a key belonging to your workspace. More on how that works on the encryption page.

API and command line#

Uploading, downloading, organizing, trash and public links are also available through the Drive API and the Cirrux CLI, for scripts, backups and integrations.

Reporting issues

The fastest way to flag a problem is Send feedback in the Drive app. It includes the page you were on and your browser details, so we can reproduce it. You can also email us at help@cirrux.info.
