Google Sync
Google Sync (shown in Cirrux as Cirrux Sync for Google) connects to your Google account and imports your emails, calendar events and contacts into Cirrux. You can keep using your Google account while it syncs, so you can move over at your own pace. Files in Google Drive are not part of the sync.
How it works
Connect your Google account#
In Cirrux Mail, go to Settings → Sync & Import and click Connect Google account. You’ll be asked to give Cirrux read-only access to your email, calendars and contacts. After connecting, Cirrux discovers your Gmail labels and Google calendars. You then pick the Cirrux mailbox to sync into, choose whether to sync emails, calendars and contacts, and click Start sync.
Emails#
All your Gmail messages are imported. For your own Gmail labels, you choose which ones Cirrux applies to the imported mail (a label that doesn’t exist in Cirrux yet is created). Inbox, Sent, Drafts and Archive are always applied.
You can optionally add one extra label to all synced emails (for example “Gmail”) so you can tell them apart from mail that arrived in Cirrux directly.
Calendar events#
Your Google Calendar events are imported into Cirrux calendars. During setup, you can choose which Google calendars to sync and which Cirrux calendar each one maps to.
Contacts#
Your Google Contacts are imported into Cirrux, so your address book is ready to use right away.
Automatic updates#
After the first full import, Cirrux checks for new and changed data every hour. As long as your Google account stays connected and your workspace has an active subscription, new emails, calendar events and contacts are copied over automatically. You get an email when the first full import is done.
You can follow progress and see recent sync runs in Settings → Sync & Import. Each run shows how many items were imported, labeled, skipped as duplicates or failed.
Safe and one-way#
Google Sync is read-only and runs in one direction, from Google to Cirrux. We never update or delete anything in your Google account, and changes you make in Cirrux are not written back to Google.
Disabling a sync type or removing label mappings does not delete data already imported into Cirrux. Changes to your sync configuration only affect future syncs.
