Microsoft Sync
Cirrux does not have a direct connection to Microsoft accounts yet. Unlike Google Sync, there is no sign-in with Microsoft that keeps your mail, calendar and contacts updated automatically. In Settings → Sync & Import, Cirrux Sync for Outlook is marked Coming soon. You can still move everything from Outlook.com, Hotmail or Microsoft 365 to Cirrux today: mail with an IMAP import, calendars and contacts as files.
Today: import over IMAP
Connect with an app password#
Microsoft mailboxes are reachable over IMAP at outlook.office365.com on port 993. The IMAP import signs in with a username and password, so if your account uses two-step verification, generate an app password in your Microsoft security settings and use that as the password.
Then go to Settings → Sync & Import and click Connect IMAP account. The full walkthrough, including where to find the app-password setting, is in the Switch from Microsoft guide.
Calendars and contacts#
Microsoft doesn’t expose calendars and contacts over IMAP, so export them from Outlook on the web and upload them in Settings → Sync & Import: calendars as .ics files, contacts as a .vcf (vCard) file. The Switch from Microsoft guide covers the export steps.
Keeping up to date#
An IMAP import does not run on its own. To pull in mail that arrived later, open the import in Settings → Sync & Import and choose Import new emails. During the transition, set an automatic forward in Outlook so new messages reach Cirrux right away. See the cutover notes in the IMAP import guide.

What a direct Microsoft connection would change
Today you need an app password for mail, export calendars and contacts by hand, and re-run the import to catch new mail. There is no automatic background sync from Microsoft, and OneDrive files are not imported. We’ll update this page when a direct Microsoft connection is available.
